Corporate BIM Maturity — Under Development
GMM — GIBA Maturity Model Manual
GMM is a developing organisational maturity framework intended to help organisations evaluate their BIM capability and maturity, identify capability gaps and plan structured improvement. Its assessment criteria, maturity levels, evidence requirements, assessment method and recognition arrangements have not yet been approved.
What GMM is intended for
GMM is intended for organisations — companies, public authorities and other organisations — not for individual professionals. Its aim is to help an organisation understand its own BIM capability and maturity, identify gaps, and plan structured improvement over time.
An organisational framework, not an individual credential
GMM assesses organisations, not people. It is not a professional certification, and it does not confer any individual credential, title or qualification. Individual professional development is addressed separately by GIBA’s competency and certification architectures.

Current status

How GMM relates to GIBA’s other work
- GBOK knowledge architecture — the structured body of professional knowledge (GMM is not the body of knowledge).
- Individual certification architecture — recognition of assessed individual competence (GMM assesses organisations, not individuals).
- Membership — a future professional community structure (distinct from any maturity assessment).
- Examinations and assessment — a future function supporting individual certification (not organisational maturity).
- Learning and training — future capability-building for individuals (not an organisational rating).
GMM is under development and is not accepting applications. It does not currently issue maturity ratings, certificates, seals or recognition, and no assessment criteria, maturity levels or fees have been approved.
